All About the Pack

The original Polka Dot pack consisted of three members. Shannon, her border collie mix Moby and the life of the party, Kasey.  Moby passed away in 2016 at the grand old age of 15 years.  He leaves behind quite a legacy of the new Polka Dot Pack that he had a huge hand in molding. In 2012 we added our German Shepherd girl Lexus to the pack.  She spent the past 6 years guiding training dogs and molding the newest three members of the Polka Dot Pack.  Sadly, she also passed on in 2016 at 12.5 years.

So, this leads us to the present day Polka Dot Pack which consists of senior member, Kasey, German Shepherds Brodie and Venus, and German Shorthaired Pointer Leroy.

The Leader of the pack is Shannon Nguyen.  Shannon is a certified dog trainer and has worked diligently over the past 14 years to mold the Polka Dot Pack into what it is today!  She doesn’t have spots like the others, but do freckles count?

The senior member of the pack is Kasey (FAR RIGHT), a 10yr old Husky/Shepherd/Hound mix.  She’s learned the ropes from Moby and is currently our calm girl who welcomes everyone and makes them feel comfortable. She knows the rules and is pretty diligent in making sure that everyone is following them. She is Shannon’s right hand girl when it comes to supervising our visitors.

The next addition to the pack is Brodie (MIDDLE).  Brodie is a classic black and tan GSD, around 4 yrs old and has been with the pack for two years.  Brodie is a rescue from German Shepherd Rescue and Adoptions.  Originally added as a foster dog, he quickly convinced us all that he was a perfect addition to the pack. Brodie is a happy go lucky boy and loves everyone.  Rules and structure are important to him so he keeps the pack in order with an underlying vibe of fun and games of chase.

We decided to add a ton of life and excitement to the pack by adding TWO puppies in late 2016! Leroy (LEFT) is a 2 year old German Shorthaired Pointer who LOVES to run!  He is goofy and gets along with everyone no matter the size, shape, color or personality. He is the best employee for keeping all the dogs exercised! The last member of the pack is Venus, (BACK LEFT). She is a 2 year old sable GSD full of pizzaz and sass. She’s learning the ropes from Kasey in order to grow into the next top female in the pack.  For now, she excels in obedience and reminds the newbies how exactly to be a polite doggy citizen.
